This week I thought we’d stick to the dearly (recently) departed music ‘legends’ and feature one of the rock ‘n’ roll greats – Ace of Spades by Motorhead’s Lemmy. Whilst I’m not suggesting we drink heaps of alcohol and live a life of excess, the song is about gambling and taking risks and maybe thats what you have to do to fix yourself! Yes its a pretty raucous tune but its got an unforgettable riff and Lemmy took no shit in his life!
On another level, the Ace of Spades in playing cards is equivalent to the Ace of Swords in Tarot. The four Aces in the four suits, in tarot, represent beginnings. The meaning of this card, like the song’s repetitive riff, is pretty powerful but like the blade of a sword, it’s also double-edged. So the Ace of Swords can represent the beginning of trying to achieve a new goal. On one hand it provides you with the energy, strength and swiftness to obtain this. On the other hand one has to be careful how that power is used and that the energy it is not used excessively or abused. Use of the sword wisely provides a positive outcome where very little can stand in the way of its energy.
I don’t share your greed, the only card I need is
The Ace Of Spades
