In the early to mid 90’s I developed a penchant for what I call ‘screechy-wailey women’ – quirky female singers like Tori Amos and Kate Bush. I forgot that actually this love of a strong female voice started in my childhood nearly 10 years previous when I first saw Madonna on Top of The Pops singing Like a Virgin in her bright pink wig! I must’ve listened to all her early albums hundreds of times!
I wanted to start my ‘Vitality Song of the Week’ posts with this Madonna classic – ‘Lucky Star’. One of my favourites and a nice wee tune about wishing on a star. So make your wish to heal yourself & everything will be alright!…enjoy! xxx
“Lucky Star”
You must be my Lucky Star ‘Cause you shine on me wherever you are I just think of you and I start to glow And I need your light And baby you know
[Chorus:]
Starlight, starbright first star I see tonight Starlight, [starbright] make everything all right Starlight, starbright first star I see tonight Starlight, [starbright] yeah
You must be my Lucky Star ‘Cause you make the darkness seem so far And when I’m lost you’ll be my guide I just turn around and you’re by my side
[chorus]
Come on shine your heavenly body tonight ‘Cause I know you’re gonna make everything all right
You may be my lucky star But I’m the luckiest by far
